Whether you will have fifty tomatoes or five thousand squash, you can sell what you grow at farmers markets. In this Quick Bites, we will talk about how to go from gardening as a hobby to producing small or large quantities of product for sale at a farmers market. You will learn a bit about how growing for a market is different than growing for yourself, how to plan for market days, how to grow and harvest for a retail buyer, how to market and merchandise your bounty, why food safety is so important, how to price a product in a retail market, and where to go for information beyond the overview you will get during our hour together.
